          Chapter 2: Altered Ego

Serena picked up the flowers and found a note attached to them.

        TO MISS SERENA KITTY WITH

         LOVE FROM MARTIN MINK

“Oh, how sweet,” Serena said with a smile.

She headed for the kitchen and rummaged around for a vase to put the flowers in.  Suddenly a thought struck her.

“Oh dear,” She said out loud.  “I hope Martin didn’t see me and Fettish.  He’d probably be heartbroken if he did.”

She found a vase and filled it with water before placing the flowers in it.  As she walked back out into the living room, she couldn’t shake the troubling thought that Martin might have seen Fettish and her together.  The more she thought about it, the more troubling the thought became.

“What was it?” Fettish asked as he came out of the bedroom, his raccoonhood repouched.

“Martin left me a bouquet of wildflowers,” Serena said quickly.  “Aren’t they beautiful?”

“Oh yeah,” Fettish agreed.  “But, where’d he go?”

“He left suddenly...I’d better go find him,” Serena said, her concern more than evident on her face.  “May I see you to the door, Fettish?”

“Would you like some help?” Fettish volunteered.

“No...I’d better look for him myself,” Serena Said, certainly not wanting to upset Martin any more.

“Oh, Okay,” Fettish said as Serena escorted him out.  “But remember...If you need anything, Just give me a call.”

“I will,” Serena promised.

She Started off toward the woods, not noticing Fettish Sniffing at the panties he had taken from her room as he headed off toward the lake.

A short way down the trail, she ran across Monica who was coming up the trail carrying a basket.  The Platypus wore a concerned expression on her face.  Serena rushed up to her.

“Have you seen Martin?” She asked.

“Serena, I was just coming to see you,” Monica said.  “Yes I have seen Martin, A little ways back down the trail.  He was running and looked upset.  I tried to stop him and find out what was wrong but he didn’t seem to notice me.  What’s wrong?”

“I don’t know,” Serena said.  “He came to my house with a beautiful bouquet of wild flowers....”

“That’s so sweet, and so like him too,” Monica said.  “But why would he be upset?”

“F-Fettish was with me,” Serena admitted.  “And he was in one of his little phases, I think.  I just wanted to help him clear his head up...I guess Martin either saw us or heard us...I feel so terrible.  I’m worried about him, Monica.  Which way did he go?”

Serena was on the verge of tears.

“Don’t cry dear,” Monica said, putting a consoling arm around her.  “We’ll find him.”

“I think I need to,” Serena said with a pleading tone in her voice.  “So I can explain myself...And do it alone.  I hope you understand.  I’ll tell you what happened as soon as I come back, all right?”

“I understand,” Monica said, a hint of sadness in her voice.  “The trail forks a little ways back.  He went down the left fork.”

“Thank you, Monica.”

Serena rushed off down the trail.  She took the left fork as Monica had indicated and raced through the forest as fast as she could.  She called out for Martin as she ran.  In desperation she climbed nimbly up one of the taller trees to see if she could spot Martin.  As she scanned the forest, she found no trace of the mink.  She did spot the skunk sisters in a nearby clearing, however.  Hoping that the sisters might have seen Martin, she scrambled down the tree and raced for the clearing.

Serena burst into the clearing, out of breath and frantic.  Aroma looked up from between her sister’s thighs, her muzzle glistening and dripping with her sisters juices.

“Serena!” Aroma called out.  “What’s the matter?”

“Martin...he...I...I think...” Serena panted as she tried desperately to catch her breath.

“Slow down, Serena,” Fragrance said, a little annoyed at the interruption but trying not to show it.  “Catch your breath first.”

Serena paused only barely long enough to catch her breath.

“I think I hurt Martin,” She panted.  “Did...Did he come through here?”

“I think I saw him run by,” Fragrance said.  “But he didn’t stop long enough to cum...And we were sort of...otherwise occupied.”

“I think he went off in that direction,” Aroma said, pointing the way.

“Thank you,” Serena called as she rushed off in the direction indicated.

Serena continued her search for nearly twenty minutes, pausing only to clamber up the occasional tree to look about.  At length, she came upon Cleo’s tree.  She called out for Martin.

“S-Serena?” came a weak voice.

Serena turned toward Cleo’s tree to find the source of the voice.  She noticed that the door was open.

“S-Serena?” came the voice again, definitely from the shadowed room beyond the doorway.

Serena went quickly over to the doorway and peered cautiously inside.

“Cleo?” she called.

The interior of the tree was more of a mess than usual.  Cleo lay on top of a table in the tattered remnants of her toga, a weak smile on her face and her legs spread lewdly apart.  Copious amounts of what Serena supposed was semen pooled on the table under the purple feline sorceress’ cunny and ran from splashes on her thighs and belly.

“Hi,” Cleo said, smiling weakly as she propped herself up on one arm.  “I uhhh...I think I goofed.  But WOW, what a goof!”

“What did you do?” Serena asked, a feeling of dread settling securely over her heart.

“Well, Martin came in all upset, he wouldn’t say why,” Cleo explained.  “He just said that he wished he wasn’t so shy.”

“I don’t understand,” Serena said.

“I guess he thought he wasn’t assertive enough.  I offered to try a spell on him that might boost his confidence a little.”

“And what happened?”

“I cast the spell and Martin got this funny look in his eye.  The next thing I know, I’m up on this table and Martin is screwing me silly.  Not that I didn’t enjoy it, mind, but it just wasn’t Martin.”

“Did you see which way he left?”

“No, but I heard him say something about showing somebody something down by the lake and the he was going to do something about you and Monica... Whatever that meant.”

“Thank you,” Serena said quickly.  “I’d better see if I can find him.”

“Be careful,” Cleo called after Serena.  “I’m not exactly sure what the spell has done to him.”

Serena ran toward Passion Lake.  She felt a twinge of guilt about not staying to make sure that Cleo was okay but Martin was of paramount importance ...Especially in light of what Cleo had said.  She hadn’t gone far when she spotted Sylvester Svegalli Serpent, tied in a knot and hanging from a low branch over the trail.  The tattle-snake was gasping for breath and starting to turn blue.

“Sylvester!” Serena exclaimed.  “What happened to you?”

“Can’t...Breath!” the snake gasped.

Serena rushed up and with a little effort managed to untie the tattle-snake.  Sylvester fell to the ground with a muffled thud, coughing and sputtering.

“I have NEVER, in all my days,” He hissed angrily, his tattle tale tattling vigorously.  “That mink has gone too far this time!”

“Which way did you see him go?” Serena asked quickly, hoping to avoid the inevitable lengthy tirade on morality the serpent was certain to launch into.

“Down that way,” Sylvester coughed, pointing toward Passion lake.  “But take my advice, young lady.  He’s gone over the edge...Leave him alone.”

“I think it was something I did,” Serena said.  “I need to find him and straighten things out.  Please don’t tell Beuford about this.  Martin isn’t himself.  He...”

“He tied me in a knot!” Sylvester snapped.

Serena looked at the indignant tattle-snake with a pleading gaze.

“Please?” she asked.  “I’ll make sure he apologizes as soon as he gets back to normal.”

“Hmph...As long as he apologizes then,” Sylvester hissed.

“Thank you so much!” Serena said smiling gratefully.

She kissed the snake on his snout and raced off down the trail toward the lake.

A few minutes later she reached the shore of Passion Lake.  Looking up and down the shoreline, she discovered that the trail had let out near Olivia’s cottage.  She was starting to feel the effects of all the running she’d been doing start to catch up with her.  She settled into a quick jog toward Olivia Otter’s home.  As she drew near, she spotted Randy Rabbit and Joy Bunny.  Randy was sitting on the ground holding one hand over his left eye.  Joy knelt next to him.  The rabbits spotted Serena jogging up.  Randy took his hand away from his eye revealing the dark swollen circle around it.

“What the heck’s got into Martin?” He asked urgently.

“Martin did that?” Serena asked, pointing to Randy’s shiner.

“Yeah,” Randy said, a little indignantly.  “We were talking with Olivia and Martin came up, told me to keep my paws off you, and then he hit me.”

“Oh my....”

“And then he slung Olivia over his shoulder and took her into the cottage,” Joy added.

“Cleo did something to him because he didn’t want to be so shy,” Serena explained.  “Is he still in there?”

A loud moan of ecstasy drifted out of the cottage’s open door.

“I’d say that’s a big yes,” Randy smirked.

Serena took a deep breath then strode purposefully toward the cottage.  She stepped inside and was shocked at the scene that met her eyes.

Olivia’s cottage consisted of a single large room.  At the back was her large canopied bed.  On the bed, tied spread eagle to the posts, was Olivia.  The otter was sweating and panting breathlessly.  Martin knelt between her thighs, his seed dripping from his slick, glistening minkhood.

“Oooo...That was nice, Martin,” Olivia panted.  “But could we take a little break?  My fingers and toes are starting to get numb.”

“Not just yet, Babe,” Martin said in an uncharacteristically strong tone of voice.  “I still got some more juice left.”

“MARTIN!” Serena shouted, her voice conveying the deep shock she felt.

“Hey Serena!” Martin called pleasantly.  “Come on over, join the party.”

“What the heck is going on here?!” Serena demanded.

“Just asserting myself,” Martin said non-chalantly.  “Not being the shy little wallflower everyone always takes me for.”

“Why did you hit Randy?”

“He was putting the moves on you.”

“Your point?” Serena said crossing her arms and frowning at the mink.

“I’ll hit anyone who puts the moves on you, babe.” Martin said as he stood up and walked unashamedly over to Serena.

He took Serena by the shoulders and kissed her.  Serena kissed him back, but broke the kiss quickly.

“Why should that matter?” She asked.  “You never seemed to care before.”

“Because you like me and I like you.  I cared...a lot.  But I was always too wimpy to do anything about it.” Martin said as he tried to pull Serena’s shirt off.  “Let’s play.”

“Not now,” Serena said quickly, thwarting his attempt.  “I got the flowers you gave me...They’re very beautiful.”

Martin scooped Serena up in his arms and started toward Olivia’s bed.

“Hmmph,” He snorted.  “Flowers won’t keep anyone away from you.”

Serena realized that Martin, if this was still Martin, had only one thing on his mind.

“Can’t we do this later?” She almost pleaded.  “I-I’m not in the mood right now.”

“I can put you in the mood,” Martin grinned as he lay her down on the bed so that her head was pillowed on Olivia’s belly.

“Ummm...Hi, Serena,” Olivia said looking a little embarrassed.

“What did Cleo do to you?” Serena asked.

“She gave me a confidence boost,” Martin smiled.

Serena looked Martin up and down.  His entire demeanor seemed different from the Martin she knew and loved.  He almost seemed taller.  His every move was made without hesitation.  He almost exuded confidence.  His minkhood, wet with the aftermath of Olivia and his love making, throbbed mightily.  In his eyes, she could see reflected there a powerful lust.

“I like the old Martin,” Serena said.  “We all do.”

“That wimp?” Martin asked incredulously as he caressed Serena’s rump, moving his hand closer and closer to her ‘spot’ at the base of her tail.  “He couldn’t even look at a girl without fainting.”

Serena’s heart beat quickly in her chest.  She knew that if Martin were to rub the base of her tail, she would have no choice but to give in.

“That’s not true,” she said quickly as she pushed his hand away from her.  “The old Martin was a sweet, caring and the perfect gentlefur.”

“This isn’t like Martin at all,” Olivia said to Serena.

“I don’t think this is Martin,” Serena replied.

“He looks like Martin...Sorta,” Olivia noted.  “What happened to him?”

“Cleo gave him a confidence boost.  I think she might have also boosted his libido too.”

Martin unsnapped Serena’s shorts.

“Martin stop!” Serena snapped, grabbing the waist band of her shorts to prevent Martin from removing them.

“He’s starting to scare me, Serena,” Olivia said.

“Stop?” Martin said, a look of confusion on his face.  “But why?”

“You’re getting ahead of yourself,” Serena said quickly.

“But I thought you liked the way I screw.”

“I do,” Serena admitted.  “Just not so sudden.”

“THAT is NOT Martin,” Olivia said.

“Please, I just want the old Martin back.”

Serena rolled off the bed and to her feet.  She refastened her shorts and eyed Martin warily.

“Uh uh,” Martin said with a definite note of finality.  “No way am I going back to being a wimp.”

“You don’t have to be a wimp, just the sweet, loving Martin we all love,” Serena pleaded.  “Being a wimp isn’t a destiny...It’s a choice.”

“Not in the mood, huh?” Martin said.

He turned and started walking for the door.

“Oh Joy!”

“Martin, will you listen to me?” Serena pleaded.

“Why?” Martin asked, pausing to look back.  “You in the mood now?”

“You’re turning into another Willomeena!” Serena shouted, noting with some satisfaction the momentary flash of fear in Martin’s eyes.  “Do you seriously want that?  If so, maybe I should call her down and see what she thinks.”

“Yeah, right,” Martin said dismissively as he stepped out side.  “Here bunny, bunny, bunny!”

Serena sneered after Martin and decided that drastic measures were called for.  She strode out behind Martin and shouted at the top of her lungs.

“OH WILLOMEEEEEENAAAAA!!!”

“We’ll see how you like it,” She snapped at Martin.

In less than a minute, Willomeena Wolverine came skipping merrily out of the woods.  Her pigtails and ample chest bounced as she skipped along.

“Hi Serena, Hi Martin...Oh MY!!”

Serena grabbed Martin’s arm and started dragging him toward Willowmeena.

“Willowmeena!” She said with a grin.  “So nice to see you.  Martin would just LOVE to play with you.  He’s all ready to go, too.”

Willowmeena blushed three shades of crimson and turned her back on Serena and Martin, covering her eyes.

“M-Martin’s thingy,” Willowmeena squealed.  “It ...It’s hanging out!”

Serena blinked in disbelief.

“Don’t you want to play with him?” Serena asked.

“But...But he’s...He’s naked!” Willowmeena said.

Martin grinned slyly at Serena.

“I’ll be a few minutes,” Martin said.

“What the heck?” was all Serena could manage to say.

Martin spun Willowmeena around and quickly pinned her to the ground.  Willowmeena squealed in panic.  Serena grabbed Martin by the tail and dragged him away from the frightened wolverine.

“Forget it, Romeo,” She said flatly.

Willowmeena leapt to her feet and ran for her life.  Martin got to his feet and smiled lustfully at Serena.

“So you do wanna play.” he said.

“No,” Serena said.  “I just want you back to normal.  I don’t want you horny all the time.”

“But I was horny all the time,” Martin said.  “Every time I got near you, or Olivia, or the sisters ...I just didn’t have balls to do anything about it.  I had to be a shy, gentlefur.”

“And I liked that shy gentlefur,” Serena said.

An Idea suddenly struck Serena.

“C’mon,” She said.  “Why don’t you get your clothes and follow me to Cleo’s,” She said, walking her fingers up his chest.  “Then you could play with two kitties.”

She kissed him tenderly on the lips.

“That sounds like fun,” he said.

“Good,” Serena said.  “I’ll wait for you to get dressed and we’ll go straight there.”

Martin gave Serena a lustful wink and headed for the cottage doorway.  Randy, Joy, and Olivia were just coming out.  Randy stood between Martin and the girls.

“Back off, mink,” Randy challenged.

Serena shook her head urgently and winked at Randy.  The rabbit stayed between the girls and Martin, but let the mink pass.

“I have a plan,” Serena whispered to the others once Martin had gone inside.  “I’ll get him back to Cleo’s and see if she can switch him back to his old self.”

“Are you going to be okay with him like that?” Randy asked.

“Hey, I handled Willowmeena, didn’t I?”

“Yeah,” Joy smirked “You hid down a rabbit hole.”

“I meant the first day I got to Rutwell,” Serena corrected her statement.

“Oh yeah,” Randy grinned.  “You sicced her on me.”

Serena glared at the rabbits.

Martin came back out fully dressed a minute later.

“You ready to go?” Serena asked.

“Yup.  Oh and Randy...I’ll jump for Joy later.”

Joy and Olivia held a fuming Randy in check as Martin took Serena’s arm and led her off toward Cleo’s tree.
