THE FAMILY IN RUTWELL FOREST

Many
of you reading this are familiar with the story…How once upon a time I got this
silly notion to write up a short story based on a furry role-play based in the
world of my original cartoon characters.
I added a few pics to illustrate the story and the genie was let loose
from the bottle. The short story became
a multi-chaptered novel, then two and now three, chronicling the adventures of
Serena Kitty in the world of Rutwell Forest, my own happily hedonistic
playground of the mind. Based on furry
role-play sessions between myself and Serena (Kitty/savage/etc…), the old
characters evolved and grew, as did the Forest itself, and new characters were
added.
To
all things, however there comes an ending.
This will be the last of the illustrated novels for Rutwell Forest. The forest and characters will continue as
far as pics and perhaps an occasional commix.
The illustrated Novel format, however, is just far too time consuming. I hope you have enjoyed the previous two
novels and that you will enjoy the 19 chapters and 100+ pics for this one.
Okay,
I’ve yammered enough. Just let me thank
Miss Serena Kitty/ Serena Savage/ Moonlight Kitty, for her contributions to the
stories and her permission to include her characters, Serena, Binky and Harley,
in my little world.
On
with the show……

Chapter 1: One Big Happy Family
Martin Mink crawled on all fours around the
couch. He grinned broadly as he stalked
his prey. His long, plush, blonde tail
twitched in eager anticipation. His
coiled muscles tensed a moment, and then he pounced around the corner of the
couch.
“Gotcha!” he shouted.
But all his hands closed upon was a small, discarded
yellow sundress. He looked quickly
about in a panic. As he expected,
nearby was a pair of tiny, pale-yellow socks and a pair of tailspin
pull-ups. Martin rose to his knees and
looked anxiously about the living room.
“Karin”, he called.
“C’mon sweetie. You can’t keep
doing this. What would your mommies
say?”
Martin turned his back to the couch as he looked
about the living room. No sooner had he
done this than a red-brown, furry streak bounded over the couch and landed
heavily on his back with an enthusiastic ‘R-R-A-a-a-awr!’. Martin squeaked in surprise and staggered
forward on his knees as a pair of small arms wrapped around his neck. He fell heavily to the floor as his
assailant giggled happily. Martin
recovered his wits and rolled to his back.
His assailant shifted with his roll and ended up sitting on Martin’s
chest.
“I gotcha, Daddy!
I gotcha!”
“Yes you did, Sweetie,” Martin chuckled as he lay
pinned beneath his naked daughter.
Her fur was the same shade as her mother’s,
red-brown, though her thick, plush tail fur more resembled Martin’s. Her hair was done back in a pony tail which
she was very proud of. Martin wished,
not for the first time, that he could break the one bad habit his three year
old daughter had.
“Why did you take off your sundress again?” Martin
asked as he tickled his daughter’s ribs.
“Clothes make me itchy,” She giggled as she tried to
squirm away from Martin’s tickling.
“Everyone has to wear clothes,” Martin explained as
he continued to tickle his daughter.
“Not...(Giggle)...Not me!”
Ever since she had been old enough to crawl, Karin
had been steadfast in her dislike of clothes…A situation that Martin had tried
desperately to correct. But after three
years, he was beginning to suspect that she knew that her parading around in
the buff embarrassed him, especially since she hadn’t yet learned to rearrange
her fur to cover her private areas.
Martin sighed in resignation and resumed tickling his daughter,
relishing the lovely sound of her happy giggling.
“No fair!” she giggled. “No Fair!”
Martin grinned and continued his tickling.
“Help!” Karin giggled. “Daddy’s cheating!”
Martin felt a chill run down his spine at the sound
of the pitter patter of little feet on the living room rug. He glanced quickly around as his remaining
six kits spilled from their hiding places and converged on him.
They were upon him before he could move, giggling
and tickling him everywhere. Two male
and one female kitten joined their sister who had already begun to dig her
fingers into daddy’s ribs. One male and two female platypus pups latched onto
his legs and tickled at his feet.
Martin giggled and squirmed helplessly under the assault. He only barely heard the front door open. He looked back at the door to find Serena
and Monica standing in the doorway, their arms full of groceries and bemused
looks on their faces.
“I see the kits have done a good job babysitting
their father,” Monica observed.
“Help!” Martin squeaked.
“I don’t think he needs any help,” Serena said with
a smile to Monica. “The odds seem
pretty fair to me.”
“We were playin’ Hide and sneak,” the male platypus
pup chirped. “Karin caught daddy, but
daddy started ticklin’!”
“He did!?” Monica said with a smirk. “Naughty daddy. He should be ashamed of himself.”
“He certainly should,” Serena agreed.
Martin giggled and whimpered helplessly while Serena
and Monica took the groceries into the kitchen. They returned a couple minutes later to find the scene had not
changed. They smiled and knelt down.
“Okay, kits,” Serena said. “I think Daddy’s had enough.
Come and give your mommies a hug.”
The kits abandoned Martin in a flash and bounded
across the room with a joyous cry of ‘Mommies!” in uncanny unison. Serena and Monica gathered them all up in
their arms in a huge group hug. Martin
coughed and panted, trying to catch his breath. He smiled as he watched Serena and Monica passing out kisses to
their children. Not for the first time
he reminded himself of just how lucky and blessed he was.
He had married two beautiful ladyfurs, Serena and
Monica, who loved him and each other as much as he loved both of them. They had each given him children,
challenging and a joy at the same time.
He loved his kits with all their quirks and the challenge of raising
them.
There was Tristan, A female kitten with the white
fur and blond hair of her father. Shy
and timid, she tended to gravitate to her mommies more than Martin. Kevin, the larger of the two male kittens,
was a lighter shade of brown than Serena.
He was a constant source of consternation with the little presents he
would deposit in his parents bed to proudly demonstrate his hunting
skills. Not that this would be a bad
thing. But the ‘presents’ were still
very much alive. Timothy, the other
male kitten, was more a thinker than his brother. Constantly scheming, his favorite pastime was figuring out ways
to get at the cookie jar or some other baked treat that was being kept from
him. And of course there was the
exhibitionist, Karin, Martin’s nemesis.
Both she and Monica’s white furred daughter, Tarin, had a way of wheedling
him and melting his heart, often teaming up to work on him. Tina, Monica’s other daughter, was very much
the princess of the group. If the all
kits were in trouble, it was a fair bet that Tina was the instigating
factor. Michael, or ‘Mik’ as he preferred
to be called, was very much ‘Joe cool’.
He reminded Martin of his best friend, Randy Rabbit, which disturbed
Martin just a little.
Martin struggled to his feet and flopped on the
couch.
“Okay, Kids,” Monica said at length. “It’s nap time.”
The kits whined and moaned in disappointment.
“None of that, now,” Serena said. “Or you won’t get a story.”
Mik, Tarin, and Karin scampered to the couch. Mik clamored up into Martins lap while the
other two latched onto and snuggled up in Martin’s fluffy, soft tail. Monica and Serena scooped up the remaining
kits and snuggled onto the couch as well.
After a few minutes of shifting and squirming, everyone was settled
comfortably in.
“I think it was Tarin’s turn to pick a story,”
Monica said.
“I think you’re right,” Serena agreed. “Go ahead, Tarin. What story would you like to hear?”
“I wanna hear how my Mommies and Daddy got married!”
Tarin blurted out.
Martin grinned sheepishly and blushed. Serena and
Monica smiled and exchanged knowing looks.
“Boring!” Mik said as he rolled his eyes. His brothers nodded and murmured their
agreement.
“Oh, it was anything but boring, Michael,” Monica
smiled. “Wasn’t it Serena?”
“Anything but,” Serena agreed. “Martin, why don’t you start it off.”
“M-m-me?” Martin squeaked, setting off a round of giggling
from the kits and his mates.
“Ahem...well, I guess I could...Um, where should I s-s-start?”
“Start with the day you proposed, silly,” Serena
giggled.
“Oh...Okay.
Um, sure,” Martin said, fidgeting just a little. “Well...I was on my way over to visit Serena
one day....”
